Empower participates in Earth Hour

Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (EMPOWER), has participated in the ‘Earth Hour’ initiative, which was organised by The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council on Saturday, 25 March. Empower turned off the non-essential lights for one hour in all of its branches and plants, from 8:30 to 9:30pm on 25 March. The company has urged all its employees and clients to do the same during this international event.

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has scored an 88.7% on the Sustainability Culture Indicator, an annual survey conducted by organisations to measure their ability to instil a culture of sustainability among the business community, exceeding the global average. The score was an increase of 3.7% over the previous year, showing a positive increase across all individual and organisational levels in the areas of commitment, leadership, and sustainability.
